Mimi Jean Pamfiloff keeps the plot moving by continually bringing in new “rules” about life on the Island. The Island likes her men HOT, horny, lusty, archaic, blindly faithful, and brutal. She is also the jealous, control freak type that wields her powers accordingly. It seems like the Mermen can’t catch a break and don’t realize that they are being controlled because most like being what they are. The Island keeps working her “magic” to do what she needs to control her men-especially their leader, Roen. It is really interesting to observe neanderthal behaving males turn into polished charmers at social functions. The duality is kinda crazy, like it is normal. Mimi Jean ‘s characters continue to become complicated and not what they appear on the surface. The island itself is scenic, rustic, and a contradiction. I actually like Mermadmen better than Mermen because the plot deepens with more twists, turns, and a little “what the hell?” I can’t wait to read the next installment Merciless when it becomes available because Mimi Jean is killing me with the cliff hangers!

I just finished reading the second installment of the MerMen series by author Mimi Jean Pamfiloff....and once again I'm in love! The first book Mermen and the second Mermadmen have nothing to do about actual mermen. Oh they are men, big, strong, sexy, gorgeous and every woman's fantasy. But this is not your average paranormal romance. It is above and beyond and exactly what Ms.Pamfiloff delivers.
If you've ever read a review I've written, you'll know I hate spoilers, so you're not getting one now. The story starts with Roen who is hunky, gorgeous, wealthy, a shipping tycoon, the most desired bachelor. Roen is also self centered, rude,dead to all feelings. With his estranged father's death, Roen inherits an island. A secret island that is not on any map but has coordinates exactly at the same spot one of his ships disappears. Coincidence???
Now we meet Liv. Beautiful, smart, confident . In a ship wreck and adrift at sea for days fears she will die either by exposure or...was that a shark? She sees an island in the distance and a man standing on the shore. He comes to her rescue...or is it her worst nightmare? He brings her to the island and claims that she now belongs to him for the ocean delivered her to him...What???? Liv realizes that this island is inhabited by men, gorgeous men who claim to be Mermen, but these men are mean, threatening...barbaric.
Escaping and running for her life she runs right into Roen Doren. What is the world's most eligible bachelor doing here?
These two stories are a MUST read! You will be entranced how the story unfolds into a story of fantasy, evil, mystery, suspense, love and mermaids. And not the nice mermaids we've grown to love but down right scary mermaids!
Ms. Pamfiloff has delivered yet once again an amazing story. I was not sure what to expect at first from these books...because..Mermen??? These books truly blew me away, the story is amazing and you won't be able to put it down! Highly recommend these two books Mermen and Mermadmen and anticipating the third installment due out winter of 2015. Thank you Ms. Pamfiloff for another amazing story..I think I love you 😊
Book Review- Mermadmen by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Liv Stratton has been taken by Shane and blackmailed. She has to tell Roen that she has never wanted him. She has always wanted Shane. She has to do this or Shane will take her younger sister instead. She is also aboard the ship heading to the mystery island. Liv is stuck.
She is a part of the claiming. She has to witness the whole process. She has to see Roen compete in the competitions. She tries to show Shane favoritism but her mate seems to know the truth. He will protect her but knows they can never be together no matter how they feel. Roen has a plan to bring back the mates and protect the island. The mermen are divided but change is coming.
I was just as frustrated as Liv as I read this. I love her character. She is smart and refuses to let the island win. Her situation would drive anyone mad. The author did a great job of having her work through it and do what she could.
It was creepy to read how Shane is obsessed with Liv. You just want to beat him up. Brings a bit of violence out of you. Can’t stand his character. He makes a great villain.
I like how the author also makes the mermen realize what is really happening and how they are fighting back. It will be interesting to see how Roen leads the men back from the punishment that the island is dishing out.
It’s such an odd idea of an island controlling mermen, a psychotic island at that. It’s definitely a unique storyline. Not necessarily my favorite from this author. I’ve loved everything she has written. However I am interested in seeing how this series ends. The ending of this book did not surprise me but I still didn’t like it. I’m ready for Roen and Liv to save the day. I give it a 4 out of 5.
